The purpose of the Oral History Project is to preserve, for future generations, the memories of past events. The Rapid City Public Library has chosen the Rapid City Flood of 1972 as the first extraordinary event to document for posterity. This project will provide a venue for people who survived the flood to share their stories. We are conducting interviews with local residents and making those stories available on our website.
