The Strategic Plan’s customer relations
workgroup identified that one way to enhance customer service is by keeping up
with consumer trends. Some resources
employed to do that include Trendwatching and the Handheld Online Conference.

Services and Enhancements:
RCPL
began providing patron notices with the auto-dialer system. This service provides information about holds
or overdue items to patrons more quickly than with mailed notices and also
reduces postage costs. Notices are also
provided via e-mail, with mailed notices sent only in the event that a patron
does not have either an answering machine or an e-mail account.
