Summary: The total number of Patron Incident Reports
for 2009 increased 47% from the previous year.
While this initially seems like a significant increase in incidents, 38%
of this increase stems from a proactive response to welfare concerns.
Background: As seen in the
graph below, the pattern for Patron Incident Reports in 2009 is similar to the
pattern in 2008.
- An increase is expected with the
end of summer and other extended school breaks as students reacquaint
themselves with library policies and behavior expectations
- The library also has had
increased numbers of welfare checks with cold and inclement weather.
