Re: 1st Quarter RCPL-N Statistics Overview
Summary:
With the implementation of the satellite library at the General Beadle
School, goals were outlined for use of that facility; as defined, the goals
were expected to be achieved by November 2009.
The statistics presented here show both the current usage compared to
those goals, as well as for the first quarter of 2009 as compared to 2008.
- Entry count averaged 2,135
per month
- This exceeds the
projected entry count of 1,673 by 28%
- Average circulation
reached 1,350 items per month
- This figure shows an average
growth of 11% per month, and is on track to achieve a goal of 2,942
circulations per month by November 2009
- Computer usage at RCPL-N
continues to increase at an average of 19% per month
- March 2009 recorded 829
computer use hours, the highest usage to date
- This is also on track to
achieve the goal of 1,490 uses by November
- Patron contacts are down
by 17% from the same period last year
- The grand opening and
related activities in March 2008 introduced the new facility to the
community, and resulted in higher than normal contacts
The following charts demonstrate the trends summarized
above.

Entry count as
compared to goal: RCPL-N attained the entry count goal in June 2008, and
with one exception has consistently remained above the goal:

Circulation as
compared to goal: Predictions based upon data from the first half of 2008
indicated that RCPL-N would reach its circulation goal in November of 2009:

- While we are on track to
achieve this goal by averaging 11% growth per month, increased marketing and collection
development is planned
- The chart below
demonstrates the relationship between circulation and new materials
