The meeting was called to order by President Pat McKay.  There were 18 people at the meeting.  No minutes from the last meeting were read.  Jason Walker, a library employee talked about  the scholarship that he received from the Friends of the Library.  He said he should graduate on May 16th.

 

Carol Jenkins gave the Treasurer’s Report.  She said that we have $1,290 in checking, $36756.54 in savings and $50,830.69 from the Helen Williams estate.  Book sales have been running around $500 a month and vending income has been running around $50 a month.  Chuck Palmer moved and Craig De Jager second the motion to approve having Carol Jenkins to continue to have some of our books on the internet with her share being 25 per cent..  Motion Carried. 

 

Keith Storms about the Senior Citizen ad and the Journal ad for the upcoming sale.  There are nice signs at the library and they are handing out notices of the sale at the check outs.  Next Saturday is the book sale.  Jon Boone asked what we were selling them for and Carol said everything would be a quarter.  Ruth Herron said talked about Lunch and Learn.

 

We dicussed different rates at 6 different banks.  It was thought it might be a good idea to put some of the Williams estate money into a separate bank account and to have two signatures.  Keith Storms moved and Craig DeJager seconded the motion to have two signatures for the new account.  Motion Carried.  Keith Storms moved and Nila Boone seconded the motion that two signatures needed would be that of the Treasurer and the President.   Motion Carried.

 

New Business:  Terri Davis gave up a copy of the wish list from the library.  We need to have a memorial for Helen..  She was a poet so Craig suggested we look for something in that area.  It was asked if the web site had been upgraded and the answer was not yet. 

 

A few months ago there was a combined meeting of the library board, the foundation and the friends.  It was asked if we were willing to help sponser this.  Roy Burr moved and Nila Boone seconded the motion that we donate money not to exceed $3,500.  Motion Carried.  Our next meeting will be July 9th at 5:00.  Ruth said everyone should thank Pat for the membership book.  (Yeah, Pat.)  The meeting was adjourned.
