Re: All Staff Strategic Plan Update
Recommendation: Authorize late opening of both of the
libraries on Thursday, July 23rd for ten (10) o’clock a.m. for an All-Staff Strategic Plan
update. The meeting will take place at the Rapid City Public Library
Downtown, in Meeting Room B from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.. If approved, patrons would be given advance
notification of the late opening.
Background: The Rapid City Public Library’s first strategic plan
was adopted in 2000. Following a
comprehensive patron survey in 2004, a revised strategic plan was formulated
for 2005-2010. The plan includes periodic reviews between 2005 and 2010. The
last all staff and board development day was in August of 2007 and an update to
the 2005-20010 Strategic Plan was adopted in March of 2008.
The
recommendation for the late opening in July would allow for an inclusive
strategic plan update for staff as well as the Library Board and the Mayor.
