Re: Summary of acoustics design meeting

On January 20, the first of three scheduled design meetings was held for the acoustics remediation project. In attendance were architect Lee Geiger, RCPL Facilities Supervisor Carlos Ramirez, and Assistant Director Terri Davis.

Lee requested a copy of the acoustical engineering report and the plans for the upstairs are in both electronic and hard copy versions; this information was provided to him.

Lee also recommended that for the upstairs meeting room space, we should consider additional acoustical remediation beyond the proposed ceiling baffles. However, the building committee does not agree with this assessment, and the project will proceed as outlined by the acoustical engineer.

The design phase is projected to be completed by March 31. In order to accomplish this, design meetings have been scheduled for February 17 and March 17, with additional meetings as needed to move the design forward.
