BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Community, Governmental and Interlibrary Relations:
- SDLA Legislative
Day- 4 staff members and Greta attended this event in Pierre, SD.
- ILS
Strategic Plan workgroup was convened to begin reviewing vendors for
integrated library systems
- ALA
Midwinter conference was attended and the report is linked to the ILS Wiki
- G.
Chapman attended a planning session with Mayor and Department Head Staff
regarding budget and interdepartmental procedures
STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:
- Marti
Cundiff started on January 22, 2009 as a Public Services Library Associate
- 2009
Training Annual Planning session was held, yearly staff training
calendar updated
- Network
Services and the Business Office are outlining staff training and a
timeline for switch to a replacement VOIP (voice over internet) telephone
system
- Continuing
enhancement of the SharePoint content management system to be used as the
single access point for staff documents
FEATURED SERVICES AND ENHANCEMENTS:
- Scheduled
re-painting of YS
complete, with favorable comments from patrons
- Pursuing
new speaking engagements to discuss library services and foster lasting
relationships with community groups
- Exploring
new programming ventures (computer classes and lectures) for young adults
and working adults; a survey will be distributed to patrons to determine
preferences for days, times, venues and topics
