Meeting
Room B 4:00 PM
President Craig DeJager called the meeting to order. There were 12
members present for the meeting. The minutes from the last meeting had
been sent to everyone by Secretary Jim Miller
and there being no objection they were approved as sent. Treasurer Carol
Jenkins said that last month we took in $858 for book sales. We have
$6,029 in the regular checking account and $36,762 in the savings account.
Publicity chairman Keith Storms told about the upcoming $1 Spring Book
Sale coming up on April 26th. He showed up the
poster for the event. Pat McKay gave us a program report. She said
the last two Lunch and Learn events had been very successful. She also
reported that the Chamber Mixer that the Library held on April 8th
was very successful.
That brought us into
Old Business as the first item was also about the Chamber Mixer. The nine
guest memberships that we had to pay to the Chamber was money well spent.
Everyone who went said the event was very successful and very well
organized. Everyone was reminded to please pay their dues. The
Spring Sale sign up sheet was passed around and everyone was encouraged to sign
up. The books will be set up the morning of April 25th with
the sale being on April 26, 2005.
The first item of New
Business was talking about more book store shelving. Terri had a estimate of $3300 for additional single faced shelving,
but the estimates are from March and we can’t be sure of postage on items until
we receive them. Ruth Herron moved and Pat McKay seconded the motion to
approve the expenditure two sections of Gaylord shelving. Motion Carried.
A portable coat rack, one on rollers was talked about. Terri will
check to see if there is a place one can be stored. We will be financing
Lunch and Learn throughout the summer months this year. There being no
further business the meeting was adjourned.
James B. Miller
