2008 Library Project Funding List

Chamber of Commerce Mixer	$1000	The Friends will provide sponsorship for the library’s hosting of a Chamber of Commerce Mixer, scheduled for April 15, 2008.
Big Read – statewide programs and discussion of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451	$1500	This event is planned for April – May 2008, with a kickoff at the Chamber Mixer.
Live plants	$3300	The Friends provide for the ongoing maintenance of the live plants throughout the library.
Plastic book bags	$5500	To re-supply the book bags provided for patrons
Lunch ‘n Learn	$2500	Ongoing support for this popular program.
Programming awards	$1600	To provide prizes for youth and poets participating in the Discovery Days, Summer Reading Program, National Library Week, Children’s Book Week, and Teen Read Week events, Welcome Back to School, and the Poets’ Coffee House and Open Mic Night events.
Staff Appreciation Fund	$400	A variety of $30 gift certificates are purchased to use for the staff appreciation gifts.
Special Event Advertising	$2000	For signature events such as the General Beadle Grand Opening, National Library Week, etc.
Staff Educational Fund	$4500	To assist staff with obtaining Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees, or to enroll in continuing education classes related to their library jobs.
TOTAL FUNDED:	$22,300
