Re: Update on Strategic Plan timeline

A timeline of implementation for the updated Strategic Plan objectives has been created. The timeline allows for staff participation in the work groups, and identifies dates for update and final reports.

Work groups already in place are:

· Marketing – continuing with development of the library’s marketing plan to promote services and programs. Will also develop a model for introducing future satellite sites

· Space use – completion of main floor reconfiguration. Will also outline plans for use of space in RCPL-North at General Beadle, and a possible future satellite site at WDTI

The following work groups are scheduled to begin their work as outlined below:

· Security – July 2008 – for review of facility security and information about personal safety

· Customer relations – August 2008 – to establish an understanding of how we serve patrons in both face-to-face and virtual worlds, and to develop and implement a plan for ongoing enhancement of customer relations

· ILS – August 2008 - research to acquire and implement a new Integrated Library System

· Archives – September 2008 – to create a model and implement a virtual archive
