Re: RCPLN statistics projections
Date:
The following document outlines use of the RCPL-North facility based on two factors:
Based on this information, and with a formula structured on use of the Downtown facility, we have developed a method for estimating growth and use of the North facility through 2009. Current industrial standards state that 3% growth is optimistic and a good base line for comparing actual growth; at this time, the North facility has been seeing about a 6% increase per week.
Data charts representing current
use:

o The north library entry count is at 44% of the projected community use of the facility. Based on current growth the north facility should hit its target entry count of 1673 patrons per month in September 2009.

o The north facility is currently at 27% of expected circulation. Usage dropped in May due to closing for Memorial Day weekend. But circulation has again picked up in June with the start of the Summer Reading program. Based on current growth we should meet our circulation goal of 3090 per month in November of 2009.
To calculate monthly use goals
for RCPL-N, the following formula is used:
· Total RCPL Downtown use (from monthly statistics spreadsheet)
· Less 20% county use
· Multiplied by GB area population (9.4%)
· Multiplied by 66% (2,346 annual hours at RCPL-N compared to 3,536 annual hours Downtown = 66%)
· Divided by 12 months
