Re:       Thinkingahead Conference

            Salt Lake City Public Library

This is the second year that I have attended this conference. The format along with the speakers were again, very well done. The speakers are of a national caliber similar to ALA but the time, expense and networking is more productive with fewer people and one location.

The trends continue to be about educational support to sustain the market demand for library management, social networking services and how libraries integrate into the world of content generation by society as a whole, evolution of traditional to new services with new services becoming dated at a much quicker rate and staff integration into public use of library space for more effective, personal and efficient interactions.

I have attached a scanned document with abstracts about the sessions and a matrix of the ones I attended. I would recommend this is a conference that Board members consider attending in the future. The conference is planned for September 07, to be sponsored and located again at Salt Lake Public Library.
