Re: Draft Linking Agreements for the Friends
and Foundation Boards
Recommendation: approval of Linking
Agreements between the RCPL Board and the Foundation
Board and the Friends
of the Library.
Background: attached are draft memos of
proposed Linking Agreements to strengthen the working relationships with the
Friends and the Foundation Boards. In addition to strengthening the working
relationships the agreements also provide for clarity of roles and improving
communications. If approved these documents would be sent to the Chairperson of
both boards. A memo from the RCPL Chairman would be attached representing the
RCPL Board action as continued support of the two groups. The timeline of
sending the agreements would be for the Chairperson of each Board to receive
prior to their upcoming elections. This would allow the new officers to act
upon the Linking Agreement. The Foundation Officer elections will be held April
27, and the Friends Bylaws state officer elections are held in May.
