Re: Space use update

Progress on implementation of the space use plan continues. The public services staff have reconfigured the back workroom area for shared staff workspaces, and are now working from that area.

Portions of the plan that are in process include:

• Remodel of the Friends book sale area – Friends have funded from $8,000-$10,000 for this project
• Shelving, chairs, and signage have been ordered and are arriving
• Demolition permission was obtained from Historic Preservation; demolition of the wall is scheduled to begin December 5-6
• Completion of the project is anticipated by the end of the year
• Reconfiguration of the circulation desk and circulation work area - to incorporate self-service and full-service stations
• Self-service hold shelves have been installed and are in use
• Desk has been separated into stations
• Flooring patching and door reconfiguration are being scheduled

A project matrix is being used to track the overall project.
