Re:       Emporia State University Adjunct Faculty

This memo is a follow up on the status of completing my contract as adjunct faculty this summer for Emporia State University. It was a rewarding experience. The experience allowed me to present community assessment resources in a comprehensive manner for student learning and application of use at the library.

The student evaluations requested that future teaching contracts be offered to me. In that regard, I have specified to teach one class per semester and those courses that are most applied to my experiences and interests. For the 2006 year, I have been offered a summer course in advanced management and in the fall a collection development course. These are again weekend schedules of two to three weekends over a eight to twelve week schedule. I would not be teaching the spring semester. Contracts are typically offered on a yearly schedule.

I would appreciate the Board’s continued support, as the teaching responsibilities compliment my Director’s responsibilities, and contribute to my professional development along with an impact upon future careers of librarians.
