Dear Terri: |
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to your acoustical requirements for the vaulted second floor area of the Library (including acoustically coupled spaces), herein after referred to as the "area of concern." Engineered Aeroacoustics, Inc. (EAI) is pleased to submit the following proposal for your consideration. |
As proposed, Phase-1 would consist (in part) of in situ acoustic testing to determine the defacto, spatial reverberation within the area of concern. This would be accomplished by insonification of the area of concern with broad-band white noise and empirically measuring the acoustic decay rate (architectural sustenance) in 1/3-octave bands. Due to the disruptive nature of the acoustic testing, it is recommended all testing be accomplished during off hours. |
Once the defacto acoustic parameters have been determined, a proprietary EAI 3-dimensional computer model scaled to the concerned space would be utilized to develop a remediation scheme to achieve the desired acoustic ambiance. In addition to acoustic testing, Phase-1 would include the determination of material acoustic parameters to be proposed, recommended diffuser/absorber deployment patterns and performance predictions. EAI Phase-1 engineering services would be terminated with the submission of a written report, material recommendations and supporting documentation as required. |
1. EAI offers the above described engineering services including all travel and subsistence expenses for a single (1) site visit for the lump sum, lot price of: $7,600.00; Engineering services and instrumentation system utilization only, all acoustic materials would be quoted upon request. |
Delivery: Subject to instrumentation and personnel scheduling, estimate site visit within six (6) to eight (8) weeks after receipt of purchase order or authorization to proceed. |
Terms: One-third (1/3) retainer with purchase order or authorization to proceed; one-third (1/3) upon completion of site work; one-third upon submission of final report. |
Background information and supporting documentation to this proposal are available on the EAI web site hyperlinked below. Specific acoustical testing protocols may be found at: http://www.eainonoise.com/testing.htm . |
