MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

This Agreement is made and entered into by and between the CITY OF RAPID CITY, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called the “City,” the RAPID CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD and LOCAL 1031, COUNCIL 59, AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES AFL-CIO, hereinafter called the "Library."

WHEREAS, the parties agree that revising the work week from Sunday through Saturday to Monday through Sunday as defined in Article IX, Section 9.03 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties, hereinafter called the “Union Contract”, will enable improved scheduling for library staff;

NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual promises, covenants and conditions herein set forth, it is agreed as follows:

Article IX, Section 9.03 of the Union Contract for the period January 1, 2002, through December 31, 2005, shall read as follows:

9.03 The work week shall be Monday through Sunday, All regular days off shall be two (2) consecutive days, except upon mutual consent of the employee and the Library; however, the consecutive days off may be in different work weeks.
