The training calendar is planned yearly in September. The management team meets with the Training Coordinator to look at past training, staff suggestions for training, and the library strategic plan and institutional needs to create the next year’s training calendar. This calendar is re-evaluated throughout the year as new opportunities and needs are discovered. |

In 2005, we are focusing on customer service, Spanish language training, and Lakota culture training for staff, as identified through the strategic planning survey process. Each year we also include departmental annual planning, as well as planning for various action committees. Safety training is included on a 2-year rotation. |

The library is a strong supporter of training for staff, and the training calendar reflects our commitment to provide those training opportunities. |
