1)                  Tell us why you would like to serve on the Library Board and how your schedule will accommodate the time needed. What experiences would make you an effective board member?

 

 

2)                  In your experience as a library patron, what do you believe are the positive aspects of the library and how do you think a Board could improve upon library services? How does the community perceive library services to be?

 

 

3)                  How should a Board participate with a Library Strategic Plan?  

 

 

4)                  How would you keep abreast of the RCPL library services and promote these services with the community? 

 

 

5)                  As library services evolve, what traditional services should be kept?  How should a library adapt to new technologies and patron expectations? 

 

 

6)                  How might you handle citizen concerns about a problem they had at the library?

 

 

7)                  The library is governed by a union contract. What is the role of the Board in regards to a union contract and personnel issues?

 

8)                  How should a Board respond to a public concern about material in the library?  

 

9)                  For the operations of the library, how would you distinguish between the roles and responsibilities of the Board of Trustees, the Library Director, the Mayor and City Council?
