RCPL Conference Room A
Attached
are the Trustee Application Forms, candidate questions for
interviewing the candidates, and the Board Profile Grid. Following
the discussion with the candidates, there is an Executive Personnel Session for
making recommendations to the Mayor. There are two Board vacancies. After the Executive Session, recommendations
will be given to the Mayor for his approval and ratification by the Council,
tentatively set for the January 3, 2006 Council Meeting. The candidates will be
notified of the recommendations and final approval. Once approved, the new
board member’s first meeting is scheduled for January 18. An orientation session will be scheduled for
the new member and any existing members as a refresher.
The Board
Chairman will ask the questions and each person will have a copy. Each
interview is expected to take approximately 15 minutes. The interview process
is an opportunity for the candidate, the Board and the Mayor to discuss the
Board Member’s role, Library Policies and the Library Strategic Plan. A Board
Assessment Matrix of current members and candidates is included to identify
areas of experience and backgrounds. The candidate interview times are as
