Summary:  The Youth Services department will again present a ‘Welcome Back to School’ (WB2S) campaign.  This year’s theme is:

 

WB2S 2005: Get Smart. Have Fun.

 

Purpose:  The annual WB2S effort not only serves as an opportunity to promote the library’s resources, but also allows Youth Services staff to establish a positive initial contact with many after-school patrons who will likely be frequent visitors to the library during the upcoming school year.

 

 

This theme allows for focus on two main ideas:

  1. Get Smart: discover homework help and research tools such as:
    1. Live Homework Help
    2. Assignment Calculator
    3. Grolier’s online encyclopedias
    4. Homework Help computer stations

 

  1. Have Fun:  discover recreational opportunities at the library, including:
    1. Anime Movie Club
    2. Fun Reads (YA fiction, magazines, graphic novels, teen bags, DVDs, etc.)
    3. No School Days program series

 

Activities planned for September include: a ‘Smart Tour’ of Homework Help resources, Four-Fridays Game Tournament, and the premiere of the Anime Movie Club.  Youth Services staff is also planning to present information to RCAS teachers and staff at various in-services this fall.
