Re: Updates and discussion points to CIP |
The library asks for four projects to be reviewed by CIP, for inclusion on their project list: |
Acoustics – estimated at $30,000-$50,000; the library will provide $20,000 of this amount. The library is seeking consultant services in accordance with the consultant guidelines. Addressing the library’s acoustical issues was anticipated as a possible project. The initial feedback from consultants is that there are aesthetically pleasing solutions for this problem. Consultant hired for $7,500 paid for by the library. Consultant expected on June 24th to perform sound tests throughout stated areas. |
Roof – we understand that replacement of the roof on the main building has been approved. The Library sustained approx $2,500 in damages due to leakage on electrical equip and materials within the library. Where applicable, 15 – 20 patches were adhered by Roofing Company. |
HVAC – estimated to be $17,000 – In Feb the library
was referred to grant money provided by the state for such projects, the
source of that funding is no longer available. We would like this considered
for CIP funding if it meets the criteria. The proposal is to reconfigure the library’s remaining 20-year-old
pneumatic HVAC controllers to a digital system, as is used in the new portion
of the building, thereby gaining better temperature control and energy
efficiency. This would also allow the energy plant to monitor the
entire system. |

Carpet - There has been discussion during Dept. Head budget review, the possibility of reconsidering flooring expenses from CIP funding? |
