September 9, 1972 Nemo, South Dakota 57759 Mr Robb DeWall c/o K.O.T.A Radio Station Rapid City South Dakota 57701 Dear Sir, In regard to your Masters' Thesis on radio and television's rold in the flood disaster: Please, let me express my appreciation to K.O.T.A. Radio Station. We lived in Central City, South Dakota at the time of the flood. Three of our children lived in Rapid City, and with no telephone communication to depend on, I listened to K.O.T.A. radio, all day, for continual messages and news. About 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10th, a message called in to K.O.T.A. Radio, by our oldest son, came over the air, relating, that he and his two sisters and their families were all safe in North Rapid City. It was very thankfully received. We live in the country about 12 miles from Lead, and would like you to know K.O.T.A.'s Radio reception, here, is as clear as it was, when we lived in Rapid City. Please, extend my appreciation, to all the Staff members at K.O.T.A, for the message, about our children's safety during the flood. Thank You, Sincerely, Mrs. Eva M. Murphy
