90 Day Celebration
Turn in your reading logs. Join us to celebrate your reading success! This is a big event at the library each year, with prizes, treats, crafts and fun for kids and parents.
Take our Family Adventure: "No Family Left Inside" No one loves reading more than the library, but we also encourage families to enjoy some time outdoors, and get to know your local bugs (plants, trees, stars, birds, fish, too) just a little bit better, with our "No Family Left Inside" family adventure. Kids and family members can do 10 of 17 outdoor activities and bring your completed Family Adventure bookload (pick one up at either library or click here to download) in for a prize. Completed booklets go into a drawing for bigger prizes. Last day to turn one in is August, 15, 2008.
Check out a Family Adventure bag -- filled with bug books and bug discovery gear, and more. It's not required, but it really adds to the fun. We provide a list of parks, but you can do this Family Adventure anywhere!

Summer Reading for Adults: Quick Pick Picnics!
Summer reading isn't just for kids. It's a great time for adults to get into books as well. With an RCPL library card, you can check out books (fiction or non-fiction, standard or large print), books on CD for that long summer road trip, or download audio books to your mp3 player from our OverDrive service. We also offer a great summer forum for discussing what you've been reading. In June, July and August, we'll offer "Quick Pick Picnics" - a chance to share what you've been reading with other book lovers, with a free lunch provided by the Friends of the Library. Join us Wed., June 18th, Wed., July 16th, and Wed., August 20th at noon. If you would like a lunch, register no later than the Monday before by calling 394-4171.
Look for the library's delicious bugs!
No, make that the library's del.icio.us bugs. Del.icio.us is a handy online program for tagging, cataloging and sharing websites. We have a bunch all ready for you to explore -- on reading, children's books, and - of course - bugs, bugs, bugs! Go to http://del.icio.us/RCPL/summer_reading. For library picked websites on a variety of other topics, check out our main del.icio.us page: http://del.icio.us/RCPL
The library offers special thanks to the Friends of the Library organization
for their support of this year's Summer Reading program (and many other improtant library programs!) Find out more about the
